As a member of the Paper Artist Collective, we sometimes get the opportunity to participate in collaborations.
This collaboration gave us a brief and we had to design an artwork to the specifications which was creating something which represents our country.
The blades and knives was sponsored by Excel blades and about 3 weeks later I got them in the post and started working .
So this is the piece titled: “Thinking positive thoughts: Our South African Garden- The King and the Sugarbird”.
I decided on our National flower the King Protea and the Cape Town Sugarbird for where I live. The theme allowed me to explore other avenues and this has stuck for now as I am continuing to use the nature theme in my work.
